Tips From The Tuscany Team

As we get into the colder months, make sure you are using a leave on conditioner on top of your regular conditioner to keep your hair healthy and moisturized. It will also reduce static.
Lynsey
Try to avoid using extremely hot water on your hair and skin in the cooler months as it will dry them out.

A monthly massage greatly reduces tension in the body and boosts the immune system. Remember its time to get a massage when you think you have no time to get one. That’s when the stress relieving benefits really pays off.

One of the most frequently asked questions clients is, “What can I do to believe muscle tension?” Here are a few tips I like to share:
Get more massages done of course! The muscle work is important, but most people don’t realize the spiritual aspect of massage. It is very healing to the body to take a break from the world and to let all your stress go away for an hour.
Stretch, stretch, stretch.
Maintain a good posture.
Eat raw foods each day. Processed food takes away from your energy and ultimately, your health. I recommend trying to eat something living (i.e. fresh fruits, veggies, nuts) at each meal).

Tips before, during & after a massage:
Be receptive and open to experience.
Let there be good communication between LMT and client- discuss apprehension, discomfort and areas of complaints.
Deep breathing helps to relax.
Tightening up is counter productive.
If thoughts are racing in your mind during the massage, try to quite the mind by following the LMT’s hands and focus on touch.
It’s your massage, if you want to talk, talk if you want to be quiet, be quite. The LMT will follow your lead.
After the massage take open quite time in our relaxation massage to help your body absorb the results.
Drink extra water to continue “flush” out toxins after massage.
Therapeutic effects are cumulative so the more massages, the better you will feel and more quickly the body will respond.

With weather beginning to change and winter just around the corner, it is a good idea to maintain your body’s strength and vitality by receiving regular massage therapy.
Massage therapy can help your body:
Aids the lymphatic system, which cleanses your body from head to toe, by helping it work more productively.
Keeps muscles stretched and toned by the stretching moves used in massage.
Helps your blood circulates more productively, thus keeping you warn on those cold winter nights.
And also a massage in general is very warming, confronting and relaxing. So if your feeling like you need a little “pick me up” give us a call.
For more facts on massage and its benefits, feel free to call and set up a consultation with one of our wonderful massage therapists.

When blow drying your hair is 80% dry before round brushing. This will save you a lot of time and energy.
Also wait till your hair is 80% dry before putting product in. If you don’t, the product may get diluted and not work properly.
Following with a flat iron after you rat tail comb. Work slowly to help you get your hair straighter and smoother. When flat ironing make sure to run it all the way through the end to seal that cuticle for increased shine and smoothness.
