Tuscany Leads Greater Cincinnati "Banding Together" Blood Drive Event (July 2008)
We often hear, “It is better to give than receive” and to help people in need.
This adage recently sparked several top Greater Cincinnati salons/salon into community activism, specifically working with the University of Cincinnati’s Hoxworth Blood Center to execute a week-long blood drawing. This event took place from July 14th – July 19th.

Over the week’s event, 111 donors made strong personal commitments in order to donate a pint (or more) of their blood. This “Gift of Life” goes to help many people at 29 Greater Cincinnati hospitals and medical clinics. According to Hoxworth officials, the collected blood helped over 330 people requiring blood and/or blood products. (This is especially helpful in that Cincinnati’s blood inventory is particularly low at the time.)
The event was devised and organized by Symmes Township’s Tuscany Spa.Salon. In total, seven Greater Cincinnati spas/salons were part of the event, including businesses from Northern Cincinnati (Deerfield Township) to Northern Kentucky (Florence).
Besides having these businesses participating, diverse organizations promoted the event such as the Loveland Symmes Fire Department, the Cincinnati Ben-Gals, Miss Ohio USA, representatives from Symmes Township, and local media coverage from The Cincinanti Enquirer, Community Press, ICRC-TV, WLWT-TV (Channel 5), WKRC-TV (Channel 12), and WCPO-TV (Channel 9).

Communities and surrounding businesses were challenged to donate blood on behalf of neighboring spas/salons. To encourage donations, individual spas/salons provided $50 gift certificates to one “sponsored” donor who was randomly selected by Hoxworth Blood Center. Additionally, a Grand Prize $400 Gift Certificate was randomly selected; with Kristina Smiley, a donor from Northern Kentucky's MI Salon & Spa, winning this big prize!
Additionally, 6 different members of the Cincinnati Ben-Gals added encouragement, conversation, and refreshments
The event was a great opportunity for spas/salons to help many people as well as uniting staffs for a greater good. Many first-timers were heard to say, “I am going to make this part of my routine – well, once every 8 weeks, that is!”
Tuscany Selected as 1 of Top 9 Cincinnati Spas/Salons by Inspire Magazine (May 2007)
In a selective, "blind visit", 9 Cincinnati spas/salons were selected and featured in the higher-end Inspire Magazine.
In Inspire's third-annual Top Salons ranking, Inspire again scoured the Cincinnati area for the best service, ambience, staff training and finished product to find havens of beauty and relaxation. Inspire staff were secretly dispatched to experience services provided by many top-notch salons and spas.
The writers mission was to rate salons/spas. Once the best were selected, the Inspire editorial staff further dicuss, assess, and select the leading Cincinnati business. Afterward, photos and more extensive interviews were taken

Cincinnati Look (October 2007)
Excerpt from Real-Life Makeovers
Sara Johnson & her career-ready new look

"There's no bad time for a makeover. Whether you're a college student preparing for the 'real world', or an active grandmother juggling babysitting with a busy social life, it's important for yourself and your style. In fact, it's amazing what a new cut, color, and outfil can do to refresh your spirit. 'I found that having a makeover is almost a mini-vacation; you get yourself recharged very quickly and get a new perspective without having to go anywhere,' says makeover candidate Jen Burdell-King. To prove our point, Cincinnati Look picked four local women in four different age groups and sent them to four Cincinnati USA salons (Including Tuscany). Add in fabulous fall ensembles and viola, a new you."
